Steve Holcombe ready to race with RedMoto Honda

New team, new goals, same drive to win races! It’s all systems go for nine-time Enduro World Champion Steve Holcombe as the Brit enters the opening round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship this weekend with Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team.
Set to begin the defence of his EnduroGP crown, while also stepping into the Enduro1 category for the first time in his professional career, it’s an exciting year ahead for Steve having switched machinery to Honda.
Claiming both the EnduroGP and Enduro2 world titles in 2023 to close out a long and illustrious career with Beta Factory Racing, Steve’s move to Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team has highly motivated the 29-year-old Brit for 2024. Seeking fresh challenges, Steve will also debut in Enduro1 at this weekend’s opening round of the championship in Fafe, Portugal.
With titles in both Enduro2 and Enduro3, along with four EnduroGP championships, Steve felt the time was right to make a switch to Enduro1 and fight for the only world title missing from his trophy cabinet. Making a high-profile switch to Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team, he’s chosen to ride the Honda-RedMoto CRF 250RX Enduro that he hopes will take him to the top step of the podium.
A busy off-season has seen the Brit quickly gel with his new machine. From the slippery mud of a British winter to hard-packed Italian trails, Steve has prepared well to ensure all bases are covered heading into this weekend’s EnduroGP opener in Portugal. Contesting the opening round of the Italian Enduro Championship a few weeks back, Steve claimed an impressive victory in what proved to be atrociously wet conditions.
For 2024, the FIM EnduroGP World Championship will be held across seven rounds. Portugal plays host to back-to-back opening rounds, with round one taking place in Fafe on April 5-7,
“There’s been a lot of change in my program this winter, so naturally I’m excited to get going with Honda Racing RedMoto Enduro Team in EnduroGP,” enthuses Steve. “From day one I’ve really enjoyed settling into the team and riding my new bike. The team has been awesome and made me feel at home and welcome straight away. Moving into Enduro1 is something that’s been on my bucket list for a long time and I feel that with the Honda-RedMoto CRF 250RX Enduro we’ve got the package to do very well this year. Obviously, the Italian championship went great, but this weekend’s EnduroGP will be the real measure. So far, I’m happier riding a bike than I’ve been in a long time - hopefully I can turn those good feelings into winning results in Portugal and throughout 2024.”
