After a long winter that saw many of the series big-hitters changing teams or classes, the FIM Enduro World Championship is back on track this weekend in Morocco, for the first event of whats promising to be an exciting 2016 season.

Along with the addition of the overall ‘scratch' EnduroGP category, the series will see all but one of last year's World Champions compete in different classes and on different bikes.

Following an impressive run to the title in 2015, Finland's Eero Remes stays with TM looking to defend his championship in Enduro 1. With the Finn being a title favourite, opposition is expected to come from three young Brits.

Danny McCanney will race his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna FE 250 looking for a debut senior title in Enduro 1.

"I'm positive coming into the 2016 season,” said Danny. "Last year I showed I have the speed to reach the top. I'm better prepared this year so I'm hoping things will just get better.”

With last year's Junior Champion Jamie McCanney landing in Enduro 1 with Team Yamaha Miglio the two brothers will go head to head for the first time in EWC competition.

"I'm very pleased to join the senior classes of the Enduro World Championship with Yamaha,” Said Jamie. "2015 has been the best year of my career and I'm ready to raise the bar in Enduro 1.”

The third Brit to hunt for Enduro 1 glory is former MXGP racer Nathan Watson, who accepted a ride with the Red Bull KTM Enduro Factory team and will contest his debut season in the series.

Four former World Champions will battle for the Enduro 2 title.

Mathias Bellino returns to four-stroke machinery and will contest the blue-riband class. Bellino will be joined in Enduro 2 by his fellow Frenchman Christophe Nambotin who will race KTM's new 350 EXC-F.

Making a switch from Honda to Beta machinery, Alex Salvini is determined to get in the mix for the coveted Enduro 2 title, and so is Sherco's newest recruit Aussie Matt Phillips.

In the Enduro 3 category, Johnny Aubert will fight for his third title for the first time on a two-stroke bike. Along with Britain's Steve Holcombe they will form a strong line-up for Italian manufacturer Beta.

Three times runner-up in Enduro Junior, Italy's Giacomo Redondi will get one more chance to win the title in 2016. The Honda official will face strong competition from Husqvarna's Josep Garcia, who'll be making his debut in the under-23 class.

Up and coming Brit Josh Gotts is set for a full season of EWC racing looking to bring his TM machine on the Enduro Junior podium. Collecting a total of five podium finishes in his debut EWC season, Jack Edmondson is among the title favourites in the 125cc FIM Youth Cup for 2016.

The first of eight rounds for the 2016 FIM Enduro World Championship will take place this weekend in Agadir, Morocco.
