2008 ACU Novogar National Trials Championship

Ross has a 'fry' up at the first round!! Sunday 24 February saw the 1st round of the ACU Novogar Championship for 2008.
The ‘Wallace Cup' was held by the North Berks. MCC near Didcot. This was the first of 9 rounds for the 2008 season and what a good start it was!!
I left the start at 10.07 am, and Number 37 away. The opening sections were flowing and on some steep banks which eased us in. I arrived at Seymour's Arena on a clean sheet. Seymour's Arena is man-made sections with rocks and concrete steps. I rode with confidence and left Seymour's still on clean. Then it was to Lollingdone Lane with two stream sections, one was tight and the other not as bad. Here is where I lost my 1st and last mark of the day. I got caught up on a root in the water which could not be seen. From here I rode with confidence and kept my head as the sections were dry making them ride on the easy side.
I completed the trial on 1 mark lost over the 38 section course this was equalled by James Fry which ironically he dropped his mark on the same section – wonder if it was that same root which was hiding!! This meant that we were joint 1st.
I would like to thank the North Berks. MCC for staging an excellent trial and for getting the results on really quick not forgetting Stu Robinson for his hard work in setting out the sections.
With only a month to go now to the 1st World Championship in Luxembourg I'm training hard, improving and adapting to my JST GasGas (UK) 250cc pro nicely.
My next trial is the 2nd Novogar round next weekend ‘The Colmore Cup' hosted by the Stratford-upon-Avon MCC – see you all there!!
