Arriving last Friday at a rain lashed Preston Docks the omens didnt exactly look good for round two of the Route 77 GT Cup British MX Championship
That said, under warm Saturday sunshine and with the circuit drying out fast, the meeting just got better and better.
With qualifying out of the way and the circuit approaching prime condition the MXY2 riders were first up to the line.
Quickly displacing early leader Jake Edey, Henry Siddiqui won the day,s opener as Luke Smith roared into second ahead of Jake Curtis Stevens.
Top qualifier Siddiqui won again from Smith in heat two but on day two it was all Smith as he ruled both races from the front.
Smith won heat four after being unlucky not to win heat three when he led to half distance.
Smith dropped off the leaderboard in that one which left him fifth overall as Siddiqui took the major spoils with three wins and a runner-up berth.
In the battle for the other two podium places Edey, with second and third place finishes his best efforts, just edged out the consistent Kieron Cooke.
In the 7/8 age group of the combined Judd Racing Autos, a brilliant show from Riley Keene with three heat wins and a second placed him on the top step.
Heat one winner Mckenzie Marshall had to settle for second overall as the other of this season's hot favourites Louis Vincent put on a consistent show for third overall.
