Acerbis Nationals TV deal
By Team TMX on 22nd Feb 17
Competitors in this years Acerbis Amateur Nationals will get the chance to become TV stars after series promoter Darren Hudson clinched a deal that will see all rounds televised.
Action from the championship, which kicks off on March 18/19 at Mildenhall, will be broadcast on the Front Runner and MotorTrend channels as part of the Blood, Sweat and Gears series.
"It's exciting times for the Acerbis Amateur Nationals,” said Hudson. "We're growing every year and riders are clearly enjoying the way we run our events.
"The TV deal can only increase exposure and I'm delighted to link up with the team from Blood, Sweat and Gears who have a ton of experience of filming motocross. Happy days!”
Front Runner is a new channel that can be accessed by anyone with a TV. This includes Sky, regardless of sports subscription, Talk Talk boxes and smart TVs. MotorTrend is a Netflix-style subscription channel which will be launching worldwide next month.
Rumours that some of the top Vets have had botox and liposuction to prepare for their screen debut are still unconfirmed but – let's face it – a few of them could do with it.n Picture: Chris Hudson
