The ACU Motocross Department are excited to announce the addition of three new classifications to the ACU rulebook in 2024 for Electric Balance Bikes.
The ACU have seen a massive increase in the ownership of this type of bikes and the new classes will allow our younger riders the opportunity to race them from the age of three.
There are three new classes which cover the 12-inch, 16-inch and 18-inch bikes and will cater for riders from three years to eight years.
The new classes are as follows -
3–5 years EBB12 12-inch wheels
3–6 years EBB16 16-inch wheels
6–8 years EBB18 18-inch wheels
The idea behind these classes is to introduce them to either Electric only events or as part of existing Motocross meetings.
Speaking on behalf of the ACU Motocross Committee, Paul Roeton said “This is an important step forward for the ACU with both Youth access and Electric classes. The introduction of these classes will not only allow new riders be introduced to our sport but will also cater for younger Siblings of current racers at MX events.”
