Following the bitterly-cold season opener at Aldershot, Hampshire, the Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship was greeted with warmer weather and sunny skies, as the series moved to Llangrove, Monmouth along the Welsh-English border for rounds three and four.
After spectacular overall victories by Jonny Aubert and Danny McCanney at the opening rounds, the BSEC delivered two new winners, as KTM's Enduro Factory rider Taddy Blazusiak and Husqvarna's Ricky Dietrich topped the result sheets at rounds three and four respectively.
In the Under 23 class extreme specialist Jonny Walker found the fast-paced and rugged course to his liking, as he secured a double race victory.
In complete contrast to the sandy-based terrain riders faced at the championship opener in Aldershot, the series switched to a high-speed course around the picturesque countryside around Llangrove.
Mixing grassy tracks with plenty of woodland and stream crossings, ensured riders faced two days of physical and challenging racing.
With eight special tests to contend with at round three and a further six at round four, competitors were really put through their paces.
With round-one winner, Jonny Aubert (KTM) absent from proceedings it opened the door for a new victor in Elite.
Taddy Blazusiak wasted little time in stepping up to the plate.
Setting the fastest time in the opening test of the weekend, Blazusiak clearly looked like a rider who meant business and grabbing an early seven-second advantage over Tom Church (KTM), he set about establishing the race lead.
By the half-way point in the day, he had stretched it out to almost 20 seconds and from then on was able to control the race to record his first win of the series.
Sitting outside the top five at the end of the opening lap, both Electraction TM's Jordan Rose and Husqvarna's Ricky Dietrich set about climbing up the leader board.
Working their way through the field the pair were closely matched leading into the final lap, but it was Dietrich who held the upper hand, helped in part by setting the fastest lap of the day on test six. Capitalising on a mistake by the Husqvarna rider during the final test, Rose pushed through for a well-earned second place, with Dietrich ending his day in third.
After a couple of mistakes, the fast-starting Church eventually finished fourth, as KTM's Daryl Bolter recorded his best result of the series so far with fifth.
With the course reversed for round four, Blazusiak again set the early morning pace, but although fastest on the first test of the day, his margin was significantly reduced, with a determined Dietrich just one second behind.
Looking much more focused and sharper than he had the previous morning, Dietrich was clearly enjoying the course and set the fastest times over the following three tests to stretch out an advantage over Blazusiak.
With the AMA EnduroCross champion unable to match the pace of the Husqvarna rider, Dietrich claimed a well-deserved victory at round four.
With Blazusiak second, third this time went to Church, ahead of Rose and Bolter, who claimed another strong fifth place
finish.
"Winning round four has been a fantastic result,” said a satisfied Dietrich.
