Kenny takes his time

Ken Roczen, sidelined since his Anaheim crash in January, has decided not to make his return to racing at the Monster Cup in Vegas on October 14.
Even though I want to race because I miss it, I feel like it would be the wrong choice, he said. I like to go racing when Im fully ready and I dont want to step out of my comfort zone.
Its too early to start thinking about racing, especially for this race.
Id rather put in the time I need riding because Anaheim is when it really matters. Over the next few weeks Im going to keep doing what Im doing and getting in as much outdoor riding as possible to continue to build my strength and finesse on the bike before switching to supercross mid-October.
The German is using a custom-made brace that helps improve flexibility in his wrist and elbow.
The braces arent necessarily the most fun thing to wear but, other than having my therapist with me always, Im doing everything that I can to get more mobility. Its a little bit harder for me to tell a huge difference because Im working hard every day but other people see when Ive made a step forward.
Im at the point now where my elbow isnt a problem at all, riding-wise. I still have stiffness in my wrist but at the same time its healed so thats good. I just need to keep working on the range of motion.
Ive also started wearing a wrist brace while riding which has helped me out big-time because it has given me a little more confidence while also allowing me to relax my wrist more.
With the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross series scheduled to start on January 6, Roczen has just over three months to get race-ready and the good news for his fans is hes happy with his progress.
Ive been very satisfied with my riding the last three weeks and definitely feel like Ive made the biggest steps forward during this time-frame. Im still not 100 per cent but Im making my way around pretty good and am finally able to get in some motos.
Its tough to say right now where Im at because Ive just recently been able to ride more frequently and comfortably but Im definitely happy with how Im progressing. All I know is that Im going to be 100 per cent ready when I show up to Anaheim 1. Thats what Im working toward and thats what Ive put in my head.
