The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team headed to Mechanicsville, MD for the penultimate round of the Pro Motocross Championship and recorded a milestone day after Zach Osborne claimed the 250 Pro Motocross Championship!
Osborne got caught up in a first-turn pileup at the start of the first 250 moto. He remounted near the back of the pack, and was up to 26th by the end of the first lap.
He rocketed through the pack to make it up to 13th by lap seven, then into the top 10 on lap 10.
He continued to push and finished a hard-fought eighth. He was third at the start of the second moto, and had the opportunity to solidify the 250 title with a good finish. He was riding strong in third, then made the pass on Jeremy Martin to overtake second.
He continued to push and made the pass for the lead in the ninth lap and never looked back. The 8-1 finish gave him second overall on the day, and the title in the 250 class. Congratulations, Zach!
"It started off to be a really good day," said Osborne. "I had a good timed practice and got the second position. Then I went down in the first turn of the first moto then had to give it everything I had. I put all my focus on that second start. I got out to a second or third place start and just dropped the hammer and never looked back."
