Ambitious Vertigo team launches new bikes

WELL, if anyone was in any doubt as to the long-term commitment to trials of Vertigo, last weeks EICMA Show in Milan provided the answer.
The hugely-ambitious Barcelona concern launched a blizzard of new models showing just how hard they have been working behind the scenes for the last 12 months.
Many of us had been expecting an upmarket model, to complement the Combat and Ice Hell production bikes, although maybe not expecting the awesome titanium chassis.
But surely few people were expecting the alternative Vandal models sporting a more conventional chassis ala Gas Gas, Sherco, Scorpa etc.
Not 100 per cent convinced that the Vandal trials model is the way to go, although the Long Ride trail version will hit the sweet spot.
Only because buyers are remarkably shy of purchasing anything that smells of Clubman status or anything resembling reduced spec!
We are all frustrated factory stars and have a really stubborn tendency to buy bikes that are way beyond our skill.
Check out how many Factory and Special Edition 300cc models (regardless of manufacturer) surround you in the queue for section one next week.
Then listen out for the conversations as to how the hell you can detune them so you can actually feel in some sort of control.
Whatever, hats off to Vertigo for recognising that trials really is not a one size fits all sport and that their range really will have a model of capacity and spec to suit all from beginner, through expert and even on to collectors.
Come on, if you had the spare cash you know that you'd buy one of those titanium-framed beauties to stick in a glass box in the lounge and just stare at.
I know I would!
