It’s Chicco Time (or it will be – be a little bit patient will you?)! The guys and girls behind the 2024 VMXdN Foxhill event that runs at the iconic Grand Prix venue near Swindon over the weekend of August 22-26 have announced that with the full backing of Yamaha Racing Heritage Club and Crescent Yamaha, multiple world champion Alessio ‘Chicco’ Chiodi will be racing at this year’s event.

The three-time world champion is a legendary figure in the Foxhill history books having raced there many times including in his world championship-winning years - 1997, ’98 and ‘99.

Chiodi will be racing a Yamaha YZ 250, but in which class is yet to be decided. Last time he won the Over 50 class with ease, showing he has lost none of his trademark smooth, yet somehow aggressive, riding style. The Over 50 class is already full for 2024 and so he could line up in more than one class, much like his old sparring partner Mike Brown.

The plan at present is for Chicco to be on a 2002 YZ250, built by DocWob in the main VMXdN class but we will keep you updated as we hear more team news.

The four-day festival which has established itself as the must attend event on the British MX calendar, celebrates all wonderful things from the two-stroke era of Grand Prix racing and  is an event not to be missed. Not only is there epic racing in every class but the Friday Show’N’Shine bike show is a highlight, not to mention the social aspect with the packed beer tent not to be missed – don’t worry, they are removing the sides in 2024.

Race entries were sold out in seconds and last year, camping passes for the event sold out. Ticket sales are already well above last year’s figures so this could well be the first outdoor MX event to be sold out before the gates even open. Ensure you’re there by booking your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

You can get tickets here and keep up to date with all VMXdN Foxhill news there.
