Batman returns to Sherwood

With last weekends MX Nationals event at Fat Cat MP culled - a victim of the severe wet weather - this weekend should see the Youth National season kick off in style.
On Saturday and Sunday there's LSMX Judd Racing British Premier Cup action at Preston Docks, while down at Culham on Sunday the opening round of Maxxis MXY2 takes place.
Tuning-up for the opening round at a brilliant revamped circuit at Sherwood Notts (February 18/ 19) a National warm-up meeting hosted by LSMX promotions and Judd Racing had many championship contenders on view.
With it all done and dusted, top youth honours went to Auto section winners Zane Stephens and Frankie Jubb, McKenzie Marshall topped out in the 65s and last year's Judd Racing Junior champ Bailey Johnston ruled in the Small-wheel 85's.
Taking all five race wins Jack Grayshon whitewashed the Big-wheel division as MXY2 crew put on a cracking show. Team Green's Lewis Hall finished top of the pile winning four out of five and top 125cc pilot was Declan Hunter, who made off with the other race win and second overall.
In a terrific set of races 125cc mounted Drew Anderson took third overall with Sam Price fourth as section newbie Ike Carter (MBO Power 125) bagged fifth.
Racing with the Adult Experts 17-year-old Howard Wainwright had more than a few spectators wondering what was going on in his first outing.
The peak on his crash lid had split right down the middle with each half flicking up in perfect symmetry – and doing a pretty good Batman impression in the process!
As far as results went, after a couple of big bail outs on day one Wainwright finished a strong overall runner-up in the Adult Expert class.
