FOLLOWING torrential overnight rain that caused havoc in other parts of the country, the expectations could have been quite low for round three of this year's Moto Goo championship at Wilden Lane.Quite astonishingly, the course soaked it all up without any problem whatsoever and the day's racing from midday onwards actually ran in what were almost perfect track conditions. With glorious blue skies overhead, Richie Worral took the combined Two and Four-stroke races by the scruff of the neck, winning the opening two encounters. The pressure being applied from behind by Thomas Batty however, who took the result of the second race all the way to the final corner in one of the best races of the day. Thomas made no mistake winning the final moto to secure second place overall as Richie Worral stumbled with a couple of errors. Richie recovered well however, and a fourth place finish was good enough to take the honours. Dale Raynor with three powerful rides was a constant threat eventually finishing in third place overall as Joe Jones once again turned in a titanic performance on the 125cc two stroke KTM. Joe won his section with ease and just like Dale he was always in the mix at the sharp end, right on the leader's case and pace.
Craig Maddocks, Chris Povey and Adam Wells all produced individual fireworks to light up the 125cc section. Craig Maddocks won the opening race but only after 14 year-old Adam Wells had delivered the best ride of his young career, pushing the two-stroke Suzuki to its limits in a pulsating chase to the chequered flag. Unfortunately Adam injured himself in race two as Chris Povey took a superb race win. Craig wrapped it all up in race three however, with another totally dominant performance.
