Big MXGB news as Scottish venue secured and calendar shuffled

The promotional team behind the 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship has confirmed that the previously TBA Scottish round will take place at Duns. The announcement comes alongside a calendar adjustment designed to avoid a date clash between the Monster Mountain round of the MXGB series and the EnduroGP of Wales, which were originally scheduled to take place approximately 50 miles apart in August.
While the change eases the logistical challenges of staging two major off-road events in close proximity, it also removes the possibility for fans to attend both in the same weekend – perhaps spending Friday and Saturday in Rhayader before making the short trip to Merthyr Tydfil.
Stakeholders appear satisfied with the solution.
MXGB Director Paul Irwin stated: “It’s been a tricky situation to resolve for several reasons, but I believe we’ve found a strong solution. By simply swapping the two venues, we have been able to retain our original dates. We would like to extend sincere thanks to Mark Thomas at Monster Mountain and Dave Macvie at Duns for their cooperation and support in making this possible.”
EnduroGP of Great Britain Director Adam Rees echoed those sentiments: “What a problem to have - two huge events on the same weekend. It’s great to see motorsport thriving in the UK. A huge thanks to the ACU and MXGB for making collaborative moves, ensuring that both spectators and operational teams and suppliers can enjoy the best of all worlds during such a busy period.”
ACU Chairman Tim Lightfoot also commented: “With 11 FIM World Championship events in the UK this year, scheduling busy domestic championships has been especially challenging. It’s great to see organisers from different ACU disciplines working together to ensure that major events don’t clash. This hasn’t been an easy task, so we would like to thank Paul and Adam for their efforts in finding a solution that will enable fans to support both events.”

The EnduroGP of Wales, meanwhile, will run as planned in August 6-9 at Rhayader.
