Big names top SX bill
By TMX Archives on 21st Oct 15
The line-up for the Lille Supercross is taking its final shape. And its the Stewart brothers, Romain Febvre and Shaun Simpson topping the bill as they lead USA, France and the Rest of the World into battle on November 14-15.
The return of James Stewart, together with younger brother Malcolm, is of course the main draw.
Bubba has only raced in Europe six times previously – twice in the UK at the Nations, twice in the World Juniors at Gaildorf and twice at Bercy.
The Stewarts are joined in the US line-up by Cooper Webb, TLD's Shane McElrath and Weston Peick while Febvre will lead a French team completed by Christophe Pourcel, Jordi Tixier, Dylan Ferrandis and the French regulars led by Cedric Soubeyras.
Extra interest is added this year by the return of the Rest of the World team led by Shaun Simpson together with Valentin Guillod and the Auberson brothers, Killian adding the sweet sound of a 300cc stroker to the grunting pack.
DRT Kawasaki's American rider Darian Sanayei and 2014 winner Maxime Desprey complement the SX tour kids in SX2 and Livia Lancelot adds interest as she takes on the boys.
Freestyle doesn't some up short either with Edgar Torronteras, Nate Adams, Mat Rebeaud, David Rinaldo, Genki Watanabe and BMX front-flipper Patrick Guimez all contracted to perform.
The unique Lille format ensures that fans get to see the big names race several times each evening with two semis, Superpole and Main for the 450s and two motos for SX2.
Lille is little over an hour from Calais. But for those who don't fancy running the gauntlet at the Channel port it is just 90 minutes from London by train and the Stade Pierre Mauroy is easily accessible by taxi or public transport.
Ticket prices have been held as low as 49,50 Euros (less than 40 quid) and can be bought at amcf.trium.fr
The Saturday show runs from 7pm to 10.35pm and Sunday from 3pm to 6.35pm.
