Blaxhall provided a suitably sandy stage for the final round of the 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship, where a big Suffolk crowd watched Conrad Mewse put the finishing touches to another championship-winning season.

The Crendon Tru7 Honda rider arrived with a 26-point MX1 advantage and left with the title, a double race victory and a maximum 50-point haul. Not a bad way to finish the year.

For Woodbridge & DMCC, staging the MXGB finale was another major milestone, with the revised Blaxhall layout and its demanding sandy surface providing a fitting final test for the riders.

With championships, final positions and one last chance to finish the season on a high at stake, there was plenty to play for from the opening gate.

In Apico MX1, Mewse delivered exactly what was required. Starting from pole, he slotted into the lead after passing early race leader Evgeny Bobryshev and then pulled clear to take the opening moto ahead of Ben Watson, with Bobryshev third.

Race two followed much the same script. Mewse took the win to complete the double, secure the overall and confirm his sixth British MX1 Championship.

Watson backed up his runner-up finish with another second in race two to take second overall, while Josh Gilbert continued his comeback from injury with third overall.

MX2 may have been decided at Duns, where Charlie Heyman wrapped up the championship, but there was still plenty of racing to be done at Blaxhall.

Gyan Doensen topped qualifying, but the opening moto was turned on its head when early leader Jamie Keith crashed out. Tommy Searle then fought his way past Ben Mustoe and Billy Askew to take the win, with Joe Brookes charging through to second.

Askew hit back in race two to take the victory, but it was Brookes’ consistency across the two motos that earned him the overall win. Searle took second overall, with Askew third. Doensen and Cas Valk completed the meeting’s top five.

For Heyman, it was the final chapter of an impressive title-winning campaign in which the young rider established himself as the benchmark in MX2.

The MX125 championship had also been decided at Duns, with Drew Stock arriving at Blaxhall with the title already safely in the bag before moving up to MX2 for the finale.

That left Hayden Statt to steal the show on the day, taking both race wins to claim the final-round overall.

There was plenty for the home crowd to cheer, too, with Alfie Geddes-Green producing a strong ride at his local circuit in front of family and supporters to finish second overall. Blaxhall regular Archie Stapley put in another determined performance in the competitive 125cc field to take third.

And with that, the final chequered flag fell on the 2026 MXGB season.

Woodbridge & DMCC would like to thank the riders, teams, officials, marshals, medical personnel, volunteers, sponsors, trade exhibitors and spectators whose support made the meeting possible.

The club also extends its thanks to event sponsor Talk Access & Lifting, Foxwood Trade for supporting the Holeshot Awards, SAGA Truck & Van, Steve Lumley Planings Ltd, Ernest Doe and all the businesses and supporters who helped deliver the final round.

Six British MX1 titles for Mewse, champions crowned across the classes and another MXGB finale successfully delivered at Blaxhall – a fitting way for Woodbridge & DMCC to bring the national season to a close.
