Blaxhall ready for MXGB title showdown

One round to go, two races to settle it and 50 championship points still on the table.
The 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship heads to Blaxhall Circuit in Suffolk on Sunday, September 27, for the final showdown of the season – and while Charlie Heyman has already wrapped up the MX2 crown, there’s still plenty to play for in MX1.
Conrad Mewse arrives at the Woodbridge & DMCC circuit with a 26-point advantage over Spain’s Oriol Oliver, with Ben Watson another 13 points adrift in third.
Mewse strengthened his grip on the championship with a Duns double last time out, but with 50 points available from the two Blaxhall races, the job isn’t quite finished.
Oliver and Watson may need a bit of help from elsewhere, but both can still have a major say in how the final championship order looks.
And there’s plenty of firepower behind the leading trio, with Taylor Hammal, Tristan Purdon and Tom Grimshaw joined by Adam Sterry, Ben Edwards, Jamie Carpenter and Bobby Bruce.
Adding a little more spice to the MX1 mix is Evgeny Bobryshev, the former two-time British MX1 Champion and Grand Prix winner, who returns as a wildcard for the finale.
Heyman, meanwhile, can relax slightly after sealing the MX2 title, but that doesn’t mean the class is short of interest.
Elliott Banks-Browne makes a welcome return to MXGB action at his home track. The Suffolk rider is a two-time British MX2 Champion and former GP racer, so he’ll be keen to put on a show in front of the locals.
Gyan Doensen, Ben Mustoe, Tommy Searle, Joe Brookes, Billy Askew, Charlie Richmond, Jamie Keith and Joel Rizzi are all in the mix, while Dutchman Cas Valk – the 2024 British MX2 Champion – adds another former champ to the entry.
And then there’s Drew Stock.
Fresh from being crowned RFX 125cc Champion, Stock steps up to MX2 at Blaxhall, giving fans their first chance to see the young charger take on the established names on a 250 four-stroke.
Stock’s move also leaves the MX125 class without the rider who set the pace early in the season. He won the opening four races and quickly established himself as the benchmark, with Harley Marczak emerging as his closest challenger.
But there’s still plenty to settle behind the newly crowned champ, with the final round offering the next generation of two-stroke talent one last chance to make their mark before the season is packed away.
It all adds up to a busy afternoon at Blaxhall, with six championship races on the schedule and the MX1 title still hanging in the balance.
Gates open at 7.30am, with practice and qualifying getting under way from 8.45am and the first race dropping at noon.
If you’re heading along, advance tickets are available through Eventbrite, with admission also available at the gate. Adult tickets are £25, children aged 5-15 are £5 and a family ticket is £55, while under-fives get in free.
