Gethin & Owain take top two spots at TOLB
The Tough Ones Little BBrother extreme enduro just got a little bit tougher last weekend as WOR Events provided a couple of superb races for all the riders throughout all the classes at Nantmawr Quarry in Shropshire.
The day was split into two races, the 10am morning race for the Sportsman, Novice, Youth and Over 40 B riders and the 1pm Afternoon race for the Experts, Clubman and Expert Vet riders with both races being two-hours long.
Gary Morley was the main man in the morning race as he defied his 50 years of age to take the Over 40 B class win along with the Overall victory.
He was in great form, very smooth, very steady and led from start to finish on his KTM 2t. Morely was nearly a complete lap ahead of runner-up, Ricky Tropman and third placed Andy Jones.
Top Sportsman was Scott Booth who put in a very strong ride to finnish two and a half minutes up over Edddy Emery. Third place went to Oliver Fortune with a determined ride.
William Stansbie was flying and was untouchable in the Youth class. William finished a complete lap up on secnd placed Rhys Davies, Davies himself having a very strong ride indeed.
Stansbie was a brilliant seventh overall in the morning race rankings.
Third place went to Vinny Wardale with a neat and composed performance on his Husky 125.
Finally in the morning race it was the Novice class that produced some real close battles. All the top three were on eight laps each and only minutes apart.
The winner was Ben Hurley from Nick Emery who was going very smooth on his 4t with Beta-mounted Will Wynn doing great to take the bronze award.
The afternoon racing action was thick and fast as the top three Experts all completed 14 laps each.
Top man was Gethin Humphreys. Gethin led from start to finish and looked strong and fit as he made light work of the course and showed his speed and stamina to take the glory by beating defending champion and his older brother, Owain Humphreys into the runner-up spot.
A very consistent Gary Daniels on his 2Str Husky was third place.
The Clubman class also had a right battle going on with the racing true and fair at the front of the pack.
Winner with a very neat ride indeed was Jack Heath.
Heath led from start to finnish but was always hotly pursued by runner-up Ross Davies and eventual third placed Ryan Cox.
Sam Skyrme and Damo Siviter also deserve a mention as they put in quality rides of speed and determination.
Ross Hall blitzed the Over 40 A group and finished three laps clear at the sharp end of the results. Riding smooth and neat Hall kept ahead of Martin Wells with third placed Mike Wood toughing it out to take the final podium place of the day.
As always the organisers would like to say a massive thank you to the landowners, staff, medics, caterers and all helpers who make these events possible.
The biggest thank you though as always goes to the riders that support the events and continue to impress with their never say die attitude in these demanding Extreme Enduro events.
