Blaxhall MXGB round confirms date will not change - Kegums clash still on

British Motocross Championship Blaxhall
The date for the Blaxhall round of the 2021 Revo ACU British Motocross Championship, which is due to be staged on August 8, will not be changed despite clashing with the MXGP calendar revision.
A recent amendment to the FIM Motocross World Championship schedule put the Blaxhall round on a collision course with the MXGP of Latvia at Kegums.
It was thought that another shuffle would be on the cards but as Woodbridge DMCC spokesperson Richard Blyth explained, at this late stage it's not possible for a number of reasons. "As a club we have been working on planning for this event since back in March and have secured many event Sponsors and Traders for the 8th August date, and the risk of losing these due to a date change is too great for the club financially," he said via a press release.
"We have also gained approval from local authorities for the current date and made final arrangements with our medical company. We look forward to seeing everyone at Blaxhall on the 8th of August and look forward to announcing details of the advanced ticket sales very soon."
With a packed domestic motocross calendar, RHL and the Woodbridge club were keen to avoid another potential clash with other UK national championships. And with uncertainly in Europe with the ongoing pandemic, it's in the realms of possibility that the world championship schedule could change further.
"We have tried not to clash with the FIM Motocross World Championship, however, we have hit a clash with our planned British round in August at Blaxhall, following Infronts announcement last week," said RHL boss Gareth Hockey. "We have to put the club and riders first, which is why the decision has been made to run the event as planned on, Sunday, August 8."
