British Motocross Championship FatCat Isak Gifting
Isak Gifting will be out of action for FatCat and the remainder of the season, the Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee team revealed this week.
The MX2 red plate holder in the 2022 Revo ACU British Motocross Championship fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels sustained a knee injury while leading moto two at Blaxhall in the British series.
Although the 21-year-old from Sweden rode through the problem to secure his double moto win to take over the championship lead, the team subsequently withdrew Gifting for the flyaway trip to Indonesia.
The team announcement was brief and to the point without revealing any details of Gifting's injury. "The knee injury that Isak Gifting sustained at Blaxhall will sideline him for the rest of the year. [However], 2023 looks bright," the team wrote on social media.
Teammate Kay Karssemakers looks in good form and put in his best world championship performance in Indonesia; however, he is too far back in the British MX2 standings to challenge for the title.
Conrad Mewse, in second place, is just seven points behind Gifting, with Jamie Carpenter and Tom Grimshaw in third and fourth place, respectively.
The MXGB series returns this weekend with the challenging FatCat track waiting for the two-day event.
Promoters, RHL Activities has a full complement of classes: 65, SW85, BW85, 125, 250, MX2 and MX1 will all line up at the Doncaster sand circuit.
