British Motocross Championship Blaxhall
Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha's Joe Brookes came back from injury at Blaxhall in Suffolk after six weeks off the bike and was ready to take on the MXY1 British championship, after missing the previous two rounds.
Brookes qualified in third place and was also third off the start in race one, as the leading 125cc duo of Bailey Johnson and James Barker edged away, leaving Brookes in a comfortable third place at the finish. A great return from injury and a confidence boost for the next gate drop.
In race two, Joes comeback nerves had settled and after laying around fourth early on in MXY1, he smartly moved his way to the front and was leading by mid-race. Brookes put his head down and with good focus, rode to a 13-seconds win for a brilliant MXY1 overall victory.
"It was a really good weekend for me, finally stringing two solid riders together," said Brookes. Im feeling more comfortable than ever on my Yamaha YZ125 and I cant wait for the next couple of rounds to get some more solid results."
Next up for Brookes is the Landrake round of the 2021 Michelin MX Nationals on August 15.
