This weekend saw the Chambers Racing Husqvarna team head to Lyng in Norfolk for the second round of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels.
Following a strong opening round at Culham, the team were hoping for another good days racing.
In the morning's Qualifying sessions, both Glenn McCormick (MX1) and Tom Grimshaw (MX2) managed to post strong lap times in their groups. This put the pair 14th fastest in their respective classes. In the MXY2 class, Harvey Cashmore finished 22nd fastest and 11th in the 250 class.
Tom Grimshaw MX2
The opening race saw Tom struggle out of the start but he was able to avoid some of the crashes on the opening lap and make some smart moves to finish the first lap in 13th place. He settled into a good rhythm and started to push forward as he moved his way into the top 10 by the halfway point of the race, before making up one more position to finish in ninth.
Tom Grimshaw
It was a better start the second time out, which placed him inside the top 10 on the opening lap. From there he pushed forward with the leading pack as he worked his way up into eighth. As the race progressed Tom make a couple of small mistakes and lost his flow and slipped to 10th.
Unfortunately, after managing his 10th place in the closing stages of the race, Tom collided with another rider on the last corner. The incident cost two places he would take the chequers in 12th for 10th overall.
"Its been a good day, in Qualifying I was 14th so that was better than the first round and the times were very close again," said Grimshaw.
"In the first race, I got a really bad start but managed to avoid some big crashes on the opening lap and came around just outside the top 10 and moved forward into ninth and battled until the end which was good.
"In the second race, I felt better going into the race but once the gate dropped, I struggled slightly and didnt get into a flow and was in 10th until I collided with another rider on the last corner and lost two places to finish 12th.
"Overall, it was a good day and my riding was better than Culham even if the results werent today, so I move onto the next event."
Glenn McCormick MX1
Glenns opening race saw him suffer a bad start and had to work hard to push forward from outside the top 20. The young Irishman quickly started to pick off the riders ahead of him as he moved forward into 14th place at the finish.

In the second race, Glenn again suffered another bad start. This left him an uphill battle to get into the points. However, he got his head down and managed to push into 16th place for 14th overall.
"Pretty solid day with going 14th in qualifying I was very excited going into the races in such a stacked class," said McCormick. "First race my start wasnt so great and had to pick off a few people but got into a good flow and got up to 14th which I was really happy with.
"Race two was the same again with a not so great start but got into a really good rhythm early on and worked my way to 16th which Im really happy with. I'm now looking forward to just getting more racing and more time on the 450."
Harvey Cashmore MXY2
In the MXY2 class, Harvey Cashmore came into the weekend feeling less than 100 per cent but battled through both races to score valuable points.
Harvey Cashmore
After a strong start in race one, Harvey slipped back to 14th in the race and eighth in class. The second race saw Harvey suffer a couple of crashes before finishing 27th in the race and 13th in class. Harvey ended the weekend in the top 10.
"It was a tricky weekend," said Cashmore. "I wasnt feeling 100 per cent in myself going into the racing, but we push through the weekend coming away with an eighth in the 250cc and 14th in the whole race.
and a crash in the final turn dropped him to 12th which he is disappointed about.
"Glenn had two strong rides to finish 14th in the first race and 16th in the second race in just his second race on the 450, so we are happy with that as a result.
