The Great Britain Team to contest the upcoming Motocross of Nations in France in September has been named! Team manager Steve Dixon has picked Dean Wilson, Tomy Searle and Brad Anderson. The ACU press release is printed in full below.

After weeks of debating and tough decisions, Steve Dixon, Team Manager for the Great Britain team can finally announce the team for the Motocross of Nations being held on the 17th and 18th September.

The confirmed team to represent Great Britain at the 2011 Motocross of Nation will consist of Tommy Searle, Dean Wilson and Brad Anderson.

With such strength in depth the decision of which riders to send to the 2011 event being held at Saint Jean d'Angely in France has been a hard one to make for the team manager. Team Great Britain will be heading to France with strong hopes of making it onto the podium after just missing out last season.

Steve Dixon had this to say about the team selection: "Obviously Dean Wilson has been riding great over in America and is leading the AMA Lites series so it was important to get him over and I feel that he will be able to get a good result against the likes of Blake Baggett and Ken Roczen.

"Tommy has also been riding very well this season and he will get some good results in the MX1 class."

Speaking about the return of Brad Anderson, Dixon had this comment: "Having Brad on the team is important as he has been riding well and with a good start Brad is more than capable of holding his own in the MX3 class and is sure to bring home the results needed to help get the team on the Podium this year."

For riders like Max Anstie, Shaun Simpson, Billy Mackenzie and Jake Nicholls it was a tough call: "it was hard to leave them out of the selection as they have all been riding very well in recent weeks."

Next year the race is in Lommel and Max has proved he rides exceptionally well there on a 250cc machine!" ex-plained Dixon.

Brian Higgins, chairman of the ACU and Motocross Committee offered this comment: "I am aware of the reasons Steve has delayed choosing the team until the last moment as we have a real chance of a podium position, especially if everything goes our way, starting with the ballot on Saturday morning.

"In my view, he has chosen a balanced team with possibly the best MX2 rider in the world with Dean Wilson, while Tommy Searle has proved himself in the world championships so far this year and Brad Anderson, who will always give 100%, proved he can mix it with the best at the recent German GP and is likely to be British MX1 Champion this year.

"Obviously, we have three other riders who feel they should have been chosen, but a decision had to be made as the entries have to be in this week."
