British trio set for assault on MXoN

Team GB goes into this weekends Motocross of Nations at Ernee in France with its best chance of a podium finish or even an outright win in years.
The three-man squad – Max Anstie (MX2), Shaun Simpson (MXGP) and Dean Wilson (Open) – is, along with France and the USA, highly-fancied.
Anstie tied up bronze in the world MX2 championship at Glen Helen on Sunday despite missing the second round through injury. A late season run has seen him take three double wins and he comfortably leads the British championship with one round remaining.
"I'm all set and I'm looking forward to it,” said Anstie. "At this race it seems like anything can happen and it always seems to come down to the last race but if we just concentrate on doing our jobs we've got a very strong chance.”
Simpson has enjoyed his best season to-date, winning every round of the British domestic championship staged so far and taking two GP overalls and three race wins. Despite a no-score at Glen Helen he's ended the year ranked fourth in the world in MXGP.
The Scot crashed heavily in the USA but, as you can read on page three, he's confident he'll take his A game to Ernee.
Wilson's season started badly with an injury sustained racing supercross but he returned to action in early August and has posted a string of impressive results in the American nationals and fourth overall in a wildcard ride at Glen Helen.
"Shaun's riding amazing at the moment and he should be okay after his crash at Glen Helen,” added Anstie, "and I know Dean's keen to go at it so we should be strong. Obviously France and the USA will be strong too but we've just got to do our thing.”
The home team of Marvin Musquin (MX2), Gautier Paulin (MXGP) and world champion Romain Febvre (Open) start slight favourites and even without AMA champ Ryan Dungey the US trio of Jeremy Martin (MX2), Justin Barcia (MXGP) and Cooper Webb (Open) will be a threat.
Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page over the weekend for regular updates and don't miss next week's TMX for a special report from Ernee.
