The 2016 Thor British Youth Nationals will kick into life this weekend at FatCat Moto Parc, Doncaster.
The finest youth talent in the UK will be showcasing their skills and aiming to start their British championship campaign with a bucket full of points on the deep sandy circuit.
"Over the next six rounds we expect the championship to be fun, entertaining and packed with the best youth racing you will see in the UK,” explained RHL Activities' Gareth Hockey.
Five riders to keep an eye on in this years championship are...
65 Junior Class
Ollie Colmer finished in fourth place in 2015 in the 65cc Junior class, he's had the winter to grow his confidence and become a little bit stronger on the bike and challenge for the 2016 British crown.
Small-wheel 85 Class
Another rider who just missed out on a top three BYN overall British championship podium was Louie Kessell. Louie was super consistent in 2015 and expect more of the same and better in 2016 from the Cornwall based rider.
Big-wheel 85 Class
Eddie Jay Wade moves up to the Big-wheel 85 class having just missed out on the SW85 title in 2015. Word is Eddie is loving his 85cc Husqvarna and has already won races in Europe in 2016.
Will Eddie go one better this year at the Thor Youth Nationals and take a British title?
125 Class
Most of the last years 125 class riders are now moving up to the Youth Open, but Callum Green made the decision to stay put and focus on his quest to become a British champion.
Definitely a rider to watch this season among the competitive two stroke 125 riders.
Youth Open Class
Alexander Brown is the British 125 Youth Champion . He moves up to the Youth Open Class this year, and like Eddie Wade has already showed his rapid pace by already winning races this year.
Zander as he likes to be known, could be the rider to catch this season if his early season form is anything to by.
This year the BYN have one of the best riders in the world as part of their team. Shaun Simpson is the BYN Ambassador.
He will be available to answer questions throughout the day at round one, and he's excited at the thought of helping the young guys out in 2016 and beyond.
Since the very first British Youth National in 2012 the growth for the championship has been very impressive, with riders who want to taste the excitement of British championship racing.
The Thor British Youth Nationals is the stepping stone to the professional ranks at the Maxxis British Championship and for some riders, the World motocross championship.
If you fancy some top notch youth racing, head to FatCat Moto Parc on April 2/3 and you certainly won't be disappointed.
