British Youth Nationals Postponed

The adverse weather that has hit the United Kingdom in the last seven days has forced RHL Activities Limited to postpone this weekend's ACU British Youth Nationals Series round at Howton Court, Pontrilas.
Like many other areas, Herefordshire has experienced higher than average rainfall over the past week. The rain has left the Howton Court track unsafe to race on and, with more rain expected to arrive tomorrow and continue throughout the weekend, the decision was made to postpone this weekend's event.
"Welcome to the British summer! We seem to have had nothing but heavy rain here this week, which has left the Howton Court in a right state," explained Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities. "We came up to Pontrilas today to start preparations for the weekend ahead, but it was immediately obvious that the track was never going to be able to host any racing this weekend. If the weather forecast wasn't for more bad weather then there may have been a slight chance, but with heavy rain forecast from tomorrow until well into next week, preparing and then maintaining the track would have been not only impossible, but also dangerous for the riders."
Hockey will meet with the British Youth Nationals Series riders during the next round at Fat Cats MotoParc in Doncaster, which takes place from 4 to 5 August, to discuss possible dates on which to run the rescheduled Pontrilas round.
"We know how busy the schedule is during the summer, with a lot of riders racing almost every weekend. We don't want to reschedule the Pontrilas round on a weekend that would stop anyone from competing, so we'll sit down with the riders in Doncaster and discuss the options," concluded Hockey.
