Set in the Liverpool Echo Arena on Saturday night, the final round of the British Open Supercross Championship was dominated by the Buildbase CCM duo of Tom Church and Stephen Sword.

The two team-mates cemented their places in both finals with heat wins and when the gate dropped for the Open Final, Sword took the holeshot and built up a healthy lead. Meanwhile, Church gated badly, exiting the first corner around mid pack but put in a blinding first lap making his way up to fourth.

Slowly reeling in Alex Snow and moving up to second, one lap from the flag, Church made a mistake and just managed to finish the race in third spot, enough for him to take the British Open Supercross Championship, as Sword took the race win.

The final race of the night was the SX1 Pro Final and when the gate dropped it was a Buildbase CCM one-two, with Stephen taking the holeshot and Tom close in second.

The positions remained unchanged until Tom fell on a rough corner, but managed to pick his bike up and retain his second position.

At three quarter distance, Tom reeled in Stephen and went on and take the race win with Stephen in second giving Tom and Buildbase CCM Racing their second title of the night.

Buildbase CCM Racings' sporting director Dave Thorpe commented: "The team came here to build on our winter training in preparation for the British Maxxis opening round.

"Taking the win and the titles will increase the riders' confidence. As you can see from tonight's performance both riders have prepared well and the whole team is looking forward to Little Silver on March 6.
