Burgat is back for the Scottish

French legend Gilles Burgat is set to ride the Scottish Six Days Trial next week.

SWM-mounted, Burgat won the Scottish back in 1981 and he also won the World and French Championships in the same year – at the tender age of just 19!

It is more than 20 years since Burgat last rode the Scottish – on a TY250 air-cooled Yam.

Unlike many former stars Gilles has not been a regular on the trials scene since his retirement from the sport and it will be good to welcome him back to the Scottish.

There's lots going on Scottish week. In addition to the main SSDT trial action, there will be various après-trial events being held throughout the nine days in the licensed marquee – known as The SSDT Hub – situated in the West End Car Park in Fort William.

By day The SSDT Hub will provide a place to sit down and take in the atmosphere.

Then by night it will host a range of different events.

On Saturday, May 5, everyone is warmly invited to kick-start their week at the SSDT Welcome Ceilidh, with renowned Scottish band ‘On The Wagon'.

Sunday, May 6, sees the SSDT play host to some of Scotland's best up-and-coming bands, including Washington Irving and Kitty The Lion.

There will be a general knowledge pub quiz on Wednesday May 9 and finally ex-British Champion Steve Saunders will be talking on
Friday, May 11.

You can find out more about each of these events on the Spectators tab of the SSDT website,
www.ssdt.org.
