As Eddy's Xtreme Enduro fast approaches preparations are hotting up and the first overseas riders have started to land in the UK. Hot off his flight from Australia is Ballard Yamaha rider Ben Burrell, twice Australian Junior Enduro Champion, now riding in the Seniors.

Burrell, from New South Wales, is entered into the Pro class at Eddy's Xtreme and will be riding a Yamaha WR250, which he began preparing as soon as he arrived at his UK base for the event.
Burrell: "I'm really looking forward to Eddys Xtreme Enduro. We have plenty of land back in Oz but not much of the extreme, challenging natural terrain I expect to find at Tong and I know this event will be something completely different for me. I don't think riding in very high temperatures is going to be a problem. It is mid summer back home and really hot at the moment, so doing an extreme event in the middle of the UK Winter is about as different as it can get for me.

"As soon as I get the Yamaha set-up, I'll be out testing and getting my first taste of UK mud, hopefully by this coming weekend. I intend to spend a couple of days next week acclimatising to the conditions ready for the race on January 23.”

The event set-up will start in earnest next week with the Fast Eddy crew at the venue night and day to get everything in proper order for the big day.

With just a handful of entries left the turnout is expected to be very good. The venue has plenty of spectator parking and easy access around the course via a dirt road, designated as a spectator walkway, which runs very close to each of the seven extreme sections, making it very easy to see all the action around the course.
