Busy day at the Greensmith

South Birmingham Motor Club had a busy day on Sunday when it hosted round six of the ACUs Sammy Miller Products British Bike Trials Championship on Sunday, the Greensmith Memorial Trial, starting at Wheathill, near Bridgnorth. The event catered for ten of the 11 classes which make up the series!
Steve Allen topped class one on his 350 Matchless. Cannock's Bob Greenhough headed class two, just three marks ahead of John Jacka.
Gavin Moore continued his total domination of class three, posting his sixth win from six starts and wrapped up the class championship.
Though there were no entries in class four Steven Thompson now cannot be overhauled in the points so is the class champion for 2011.
James-mounted Barry Burton posted a miserly score of three to win class five while closest challenger, Alan Nicklin finished five marks adrift on eight.
Keith Gardner rode his Triumph Cub to victory in class six with a score of six, ahead of Clive Charlton on 13.
Chesterfield's Dave Dench was on another Cub and headed class seven on ten marks lost, just two ahead of Alan Wright.
Mark Stokes took his Ossa Gripper to success in class eight, only narrowly missing out on a clean sheet when he parted witgh a single dab on the penultimate hazard of the day.
Rob Cameron/ Bludge Smith, Lee Granby/ Rupert Kimber and Ali Haigh/ Amelia Haigh won their respective sidecar classes – nine, ten and 11.
