The British Schoolboy Motocross Association (BSMA) have joined forces with RHL Activities and Doodson Motorsport to put the Champion of Champions back on the motocross calendar It will be held on the 11th and 12th July at Walterstone, Nr Hereford. The event is open to all ages and split into the following categories 65cc, 85 Small Wheeled and Big Wheeled, Senior (145cc max 2 stroke 250cc max 4 stroke) and AMX/Open.
The Champion of Champions will be an action packed weekend for all ages and it gives the BMSA the opportunity to put on a stunning motocross event at a fantastic venue. The event is open to all license holders from the ACU, AMCA, YSMA and the BYMX and the BSMA are looking to find the best of the best in the youth scene.
For the Adult Open class there are significant cash prizes to be won for the top three finishers. Amongst the prizes for six riders in each youth class there will be a new incentive. The top four riders in each class over the weekend plus two additional riders, selected by the organisers, will be invited to a series of training schools with former top motocross racers Mark Hucklebridge and Paul Butler.
There is no age limit for this Champion of Champions race and the only exception is that there will be no autos allowed to compete. The cost for entry for the two days is £70 for the youths and £80 for Adults.
BSMA Chairman Peter Ingram is looking forward to the event commenting "It's great to be involved in getting this event back on the calendar. There are a number of competing series in the UK but this is a GP style one off weekend, which will get the best riders from all the series together to see who the true champions for each class are.
We have already had a lot of interest from sponsors and this means we will be able to make further announcements, nearer the time on some great prizes up for grabs at this race meeting. Walterstone's is a fantastic venue to run this event and the track has been redesigned to make sure we have a track which gives the best racing throughout the weekend.
Gareth Hockey and RHL Activities are a key partner for the Champion of Champions. He and his team can bring their experience of running major events, such as the Mallory MXGP (31st May) to make sure this is truly the best youth motocross event of the year. Entries are limited and we expect to fill all the places quickly so we encourage riders to contact us as soon as possible to ensure they don't miss out.”
The Champion of Champions race has been designed to promote the BSMA and also give the youth motocross riders in the UK an opportunity to show their skills and talents and progress through the ranks and follow in the footsteps of some previous BSMA riders like Tommy Searle, Carl Nunn and Billy Mackenzie, who have all won British Championship titles.
Entry forms and regulations can be downloaded from the BSMA website later this week http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.bsmamx.co.uk or by e-mailing Chris Tucker on chris@http://www.facebook.com/l/;churchfarmmonktonfarleigh.co.uk.
