Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider Adam Cianciarulo went under the knife yesterday to repair his left shoulder, and is expected to be out of action for three to four months.

Cianciarulo damaged the shoulder last weekend whilst racing in the AMA 240 Eastern Supercross championship in Toronto.
Despite gritting his teeth and attempting to re-join the race, having had the shoulder put back into place track-side, the 17-year-old was forced to retire.

"This setback is very disappointing,” said Cianciarulo. "We had a great start to the supercross season and I wanted to win a championship for my Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team. As much as I would love totough it out like I did last weekend, the people around me and I feel this isthe best decision to fix my shoulder for good. I know I will come back stronger and ready to compete as soon as I can.”

Cianciarulo made a spectacular MonsterEnergy Supercross debut, winning his first race. His prolific start ranks as one of the best of all-time as he scored three wins and five podiums in his first five supercross starts.
