Crock leads Fox hunt but Hucklebridge claims title

GORDON Crockard, mounted on a PAR Homes Honda, carefully picked his way round a very muddy and slippery Foxhill race circuit, near Swindon, and took two wins from two starts and the overall at the seventh and final round of the AMCA Wulfsport British Masters Motocross Championship for 2008.

But, while Crockard claimed first place on the day, a happy Mark Hucklebridge (Motoxtreme Kawasaki), in his final session of top notch motocross, finished third on the day and wrapped up the Pro Open championship, ten-points ahead of Pioneer Yamaha's Wayne Smith.
An in-form Allen Keet, riding another Pioneer Yamaha, seemed to revel in the tricky conditions and took the overall win in the Pro 125cc class, while second placed Neville Bradshaw lifted the championship crown ahead of the absent Shane Carless.
What a weekend!

It was dry Saturday morning and the track was in fine racing condition, but as lunch-time approached, so did the rain, and a heavy downpour made the track and paddock area look like it did when they cancelled GPs at Foxhill.
But, as this was the final round of the series all of the AMCA and track personnel did all they could to see that racing continued to the completion of the event.
And, for the most part, it was a success, considering what they were up against as they even had earth-moving machines refacing the jumps from 5am right up to the start of racing on Sunday morning.
Also, as transporters where towed out of the paddock and onto the road, two workers with high powered hoses washed down the sides of the vehicles, and the road, in an effort to keep the local authorities on side.
