Multiple World and British Enduro champion, David Knight MBE, will return to the World Enduro Championship when he enters the E2 class on his KTM 450 EXC at Saint-Hubert, Belgium, on July 11/12.

Riding for KTM UK, Knighter started the year competing in the FIM SuperEnduro Championship before clinching the ACU British Extreme Championship. In recent months the Manxman has been struggling with a virus that has been affecting his fitness.

With the 37-year old back to strength, Knighter is keen to get as much saddle time as possible along with the opportunity to test some components on his new EXC and will compete in a Belgium Enduro championship round before heading to Saint-Hubert.

Knight said:  "The idea of doing the EWC is simply to get myself fitter. With not being able to shake this virus for so long, I'm pretty far off where I need to be at; so I'm trying to get back in some short of shape. I'm riding well at events, but before the British X-Country championship starts again at the end of July and then a few more other events prior to the Six Days in Slovakia, I want to be at my best.

"I did a round of the world championships last year in Italy and came close to winning a race. But I'm going to Belgium with no particular goal other that to just enjoy myself and get bike fit. It should be a good craic.”
