Death of Jack Parker

IT is with great sadness that we report the death of Jack Parker (87) who passed away on Wednesday, December 19, following a period of ill health.
Jack, from Knighton, mid Wales, reported on and photographed trials, motocross and enduros for TMX for many years having been one of the paper's first freelance contributors.
Jack was not a professional jounalist by trade although he certainly worked to a standard that many professionals should aspire to.
He was also a great supporter of the ACU and in 2009 he was presented with, and was proud to receive, the ACU Medal of Honour.
Jack's first appointment with the mid Wales centre was as permit secretary. He then took over as centre secretary in 1974 and held the post for 20 years.
TMX staff join Jack's many friends, whom he made down the years in the sport, in passing our sincere condomences to his family.
Jack's funeral arrangements have been forwarded onto us and the service will be on Wednesday, January 9, at St Edward's Church, Knighton at 1pm.
