THE big news this week for British trials fans, particularly followers of the exciting Indoor scene, is that the 2007 Sheffield Indoor event has been confirmed and the date for your diaries is Saturday, December 29! This is your only chance to see an International Indoor trial in Britain.

Sheffield 2007 will amazingly be the 13thconsecutive year of the Sheffield Arena Indoor and promoters, AvondaleManagement, have already confirmed the signatures of four top riders!

No prizes for guessing that Dougie Lampkin, theonly rider to have competed in every single event held to date at theSheffield Arena, heads the list and he will be joined by hisRepsol-Montesa team mates Takahisa Fujinami and current sensation andreigning World Indoor champ Toni Bou! The four-stroke powered factoryMontesa crew will be joined by former Indoor champ, Gas Gas factorypilot Adam Raga.

The remaining two places have yet to be decided. One name in the frame is Sherco's Albert Cabestany but that is yet tobe confirmed, while British fans will be rooting for Future-Montesa'sJames Dabill to be given a chance.

As last year, the event will not be a round of theWorld Indoor Trials Championship and will follow the unique format, pioneered last year, which proved such a hit with both riders and fansalike. Unlike at the World Championship events, Sheffield spectatorswill get to see ALL the riders on BOTH laps, maximising value for money.

Said Neil Crosswaite, ''We are really pleased tobe able to announce that Sheffield 2007 is on. Last year we had aSunday date and while the fans still supported us we know it wasn'tideal and some fans, like many from Northern Ireland, couldn't attend.Saturday, in between Christmas and the New Year, is perfect for us andwe will put on a really good show.

''The FIM have sanctioned our date and won't allowany other International Indoor event on that day and with four topriders already signed we are looking forward to another fantasticnight.''

Tickets will go on sale at the Sheffield Arena box office on August 1 with adults at 28.50 and under 14s 19.50.
