DIRT 3-2-1 SUPERCROSS

MANX rider Alex Rockwell proved to be the fastest and most wily rider in the Adult Pro class at the Pidcock Motorcycles-sponsored Supercross race day run as part of the Dirt 3-2-1 festival at FatCat Moto Park, near Doncaster. Alex Rach, out on a brand new KTM, quickly made his way to the front of the pack in the early staged of the Pro final and built up a healthy lead, but Yamaha-mounted Rockwell closed down that advantage in the latter stages of the race and nipped in to snatch victory in the very last corner, block-passing to nail the win. Scotland's Neil Flockhard was consistently fast throughout but was delayed slightly by back-markers two laps from the finish and had to content himself with third on the night.
In the Adult Clubman class, Jamie Simpson and Ross Clarke went head-to-head for most of the class final but Clarke finally secured the laurels. Jack Jones followed them home in third spot.
Clarke had an extremely busy day as he contested both the Clubman and the Youth Open classes – what a tremendous work-out.
In the Youth final Clarke had to give best to Craig Maddock, while Adam Extance – son of Britain's Dakar Rallye regular, Mick – finished in third spot.
One of the best finals of the night was the first one on track when just a handful of Auto racers enthralled the banks of spectators with some cut and thrust battles. It all came down to an assault on the very last corner when three riders all arrived at the apex on different lines. One got away and looked likely to win, but crashed into a back-marker on a sharp lip just yards from the finish line and Dane Clarke Reeves managed to avoid the melee to claim the win.
In Big-wheel 85cc, Joe Anguish headed the field thoughtout to take the chequers ahead of Ross Deason and Andrew Flatman.
Over in Small-wheel 85cc it seemed that all the riders wanted a close finish. One rider led, but had a spill and the others caught up. Another took over at the front, but then he also fell to ground, allowing his rivals to close up again.
Come the finish Oliver Osmaston secured victory over Max Acres and Scooter Webster
It was a similar situation in the Junior 65cc with thrills and spills throuhout. At the close of play Tom Brown held the advantage over Joele Hart and Ben Coleman.
