2017/18 Ecosse XC Winter Series preview
By Team TMX on 18th Nov 17
The four-round Ecosse XC Winter Series kicks off on Sunday, December 3 at Dunbar in Scotland, with an action-packed programme of racing catering for adult and youth solos, as well as quad riders.
The scenic Dunbar location is close to the sea with plenty of parking. The deep sand track has benefitted from input from two of the UKs top track builders and will be built to allow different lines to develop as the racing gets underway.
Sponsored by Drysdale Motorcycles, Rock Oil and Wulfsport, there will be three adult solo classes A, B and C - each restricted to 40 competitors. The youth categories will cater for 65cc, 85cc SW/BW, and 125cc, while the quad class is for riders aged 16 years and over.
Each class will be allocated two early morning practice laps, followed by three races of 12-minutes plus one-lap each. Trophies will be awarded to fifth place overall per class, and holeshot prizes will be up for grabs for each race.
Signing-on is from 2.00pm on Saturday, December 2 and then again between 7.00am and 8.30am on Sunday the 3rd. To ensure this process is handled quickly, there will be a separate signing-on table per group to enable the non-stop programme to get underway at 9.00am sharp!
It promises to be a fun family weekend, with overnight camping available and food wagons on site. Competitors dont even have to worry about providing a marshal, as the entry fee - 45 for adults and 35 for youths - will cover this cost. MCF day licences are available.
Ecosse XC is expecting a good turnout of riders from across Scotland and the North of England, as many riders, across all groups, view it as the perfect winter training ground.
Entries are still available via www.mcfederation.com and MCF day licences are available. Call the MCF office on 08454 750057 for further information.
The venue is located at Hadderwick Hall Farm, West Barns, Dunbar, EH42 1XF.
