The Maxxis Apico Suzuki Team has today confirmed Irish star Stuart Edmonds as its second team rider for selected British Supercross races this year, joining recent team signing Lewis Gregory in tomorrow night's (Saturday October 22) opening round in Sheffield.
Twenty three year-old Edmonds joins the team for at least the Sheffield, Belfast and Glasgow rounds of the series and will contest the second Maxxis Apico Suzuki RM-Z250, hoping to hit the podium in his debut ride for the team.
Stuart Edmonds: "I'm delighted to join Rob and the team for at least a few rounds of the Supercross series this year. I've spent a small amount of time on the RM-Z250 already and it feels great, so I'm hopeful of a positive result this weekend."
Team manager, Rob Hooper: "It's great to secure someone of Stuart's ability for Sheffield. It's all come about at the eleventh hour, but he's had some time on the bike, so can go into the opening round with a bit of experience and feeling for our bike. With Lewis in the best shape he's been in for some time, I'm feeling very optimistic for this weekend and the series in general."
