Enduro star Jonny Walker is in for Apico 2-Stroke Festival
By Anthony Sutton on 2nd Aug 18
One week on from extending his lead in the World Enduro Super Series by finishing third at the Red Bull Romaniacs, Keswicks leading off-road racer Jonny Walker will return to action at Sellindge in Kent for round two of the Apico 2-Stroke Festival.
The Red Bull KTM factory star will trade in his 300cc woods weapon for a 150 SX-F which hell use in anger in the Fastest class and go up against round one winner Josh Spinks amongst others.
Walker will use the weekend as a valuable training exercise for the upcoming WESS rounds that are more speed-based than the extreme events which made up the first half of the WESS tour.
Other top talents expected to shine at Sellindge on August 4/5 include supercross champion Neville Bradshaw, Jamie Law, Lewis Tombs and VMXdN favourite Brian Wheeler and according to series promoter Dave Willet possibly even EMX300 champion Brad Anderson, although as TMX goes to print thats yet to be confirmed.
While having the top names present is a bonus, the 2-Stroke Festivals vibe is aimed more towards the clubman class racer and with that in mind there are classes for almost all ages and skill level of two-stroke rider.
As an added incentive for young guns to get involved, the series title sponsor Apico has put together a 5,000 sponsorship package that one lucky Youth 85 rider will earn for the 2019 season.
Entries are still available in all classes and you can secure yours by heading online to www.mcfederation.com/events/apico-2-stroke-festival-round-2 or by calling the MCF Office on 08454 750057 between 9am and 5pm.
Sellindge MX is an old-school grassland circuit with a hint of classic modern thrown in and can be found to the south east of Ashford in Kent just off the A20 between junctions 10 and 11 of the M20. The nearest postcode for SatNav users is TN25 6EF
