Enduro stars revving up for Red Bull 111 Megawatt
By Team TMX on 9th Aug 15
With a stellar line-up of hard enduro experts, including local hero Taddy Blazusiak, man of the moment Jonny Walker and the evergreen Andreas Lettenbichler confirmed to ride this year's Red Bull 111 Megawatt, lets look at few more high-profile challengers.
Hoping to nudge the star names off the podium during the second edition of the Polish hard enduro event are a clutch of racers with immense talent and dreams of glory.
Topping that list is hard enduro heavyweight Graham Jarvis, a rider with an incredible track record, including wins at Red Bull Romaniacs, The Tough One, Hell's Gate, Red Bull Sea to Sky, Roof of Africa, Red Bull Hare Scamble and a host of other world class events. If there's one guy most likely to disrupt last year's podium then it has to be G-Force Jarvis.
Jarvis will be joined in Poland by Husqvarna team-mate Alfredo Gomez. The 26-year-old Spanish rider has already impressed at Extreme Lagares, Romaniacs and Hare Scramble this year and can't be ruled out of contention for the top prize.
It's a family affair for brothers Dan and Ben Hemingway. The talented brothers have travelled the globe together to compete in the world's toughest hard enduro races so it's no surprise to see them finally make it to Poland to test themselves against the Red Bull 111 Megawatt circuit.
Also among the 700 entries signed up to race in Poland are British rider Andy Noakley and Sweden's Joakim Ljunggren.
Both riders have the pedigree of winning major enduro races and will be out to topple the big guns at Megawatt. Less experienced in hard enduro racing are the Italian duo Alex Salvini and Giacomo Redondi.
However Salvini's world motocross titles and E2 Enduro World Championship crown, and Redondi's 125cc Junior World Cup victory prove that these are guys definitely have a taste for winning – and serious talent
Then there's the local talent pool that's a lot deeper than just Taddy Blazusiak. Multiple Polish Enduro Champion Lukasz Kurowski, as well as Oskar Kaczmarczyk, the best Polish rider at this year's Red Bull Hare Scramble, will both keen to impress in front of their home crowd with strong rides.
With so much talent on display, we can't wait for the kick-off of the only hard enduro race to take place in a coal mine. Its going to be a classic. Dont miss the action Saturday, September 5.
