field of Teams

Hucklebridge Events were at the helm as the organisers, and the circuit they produced at Marshfield was fully fit to handle a mega 35 race BYMX season Finale.
And with over 200 of the nation's finest in 11 different teams from all four corners of the British Isles - the 2010 Express Insurance Team event had the perfect ingredients for an absorbing weekend.
However, given the combined awesome might of the Hucklebridge Events Team in particular, along with BA Promotions, it was always going to be something akin to a David and Goliath task if they were to be ultimately denied.
Having said that though, Cambridge JSC, one of the more traditional club outfits gave it a right good go both on and off the track. It was a nail-biting thriller and at the end of the day the rule book came into play to sort out the final podium positions.
Following the opening block of racing Hucklebridge Events had put two heat wins on the board courtesy of Josh Gilbert in the Small-wheel's and Ben Watson in the Big-wheel's.
Ryan Vickers had nailed the opening 65cc race for the Cambridge club and Jordan Divall had put both Tom Kelly (Cheshire NW) and Sunny Thompson (HB Events) to the sword to win the first Youth Open encounter for the Gest Hastings squad.
The best race however featured Stuart Edmonds as he came back from the dead to win the first AMX battle for Team Ireland.
In the second round of races it was more good news for the Hucksters as first Taylor Hammal got in on the act with the Junior 65cc win backed up admirably by team mate Archie Osmaston in second.
Josh Gilbert went two from two in the Small-wheel's, and Sunny Thompson made it a hat trick as he powered the new Kawasaki home in front of Luke Newman (BA Promotions) and Matt Burrows (HB Events) in the Youth Open section.
The Big-wheel heat win went the way of Rob Davidson (Cambridge JSC) as he forcefully and skillfully held off the challenge of Ben Howell - and in another tight and tension filled AMX heat Jim Davies took the flag first for... yep you guessed it Hucklebridge Events.
Stuart Edmonds came out all guns blazing in the third round to claim his and Team Ireland's second heat win of the day. Elsewhere however it was a new set of names grabbing the glory but with most of them still representing HB Events.
Keenan Hird added another one point win to the total from the 65s - likewise Mitchell Lewis from the Small-wheel's. Mitchell brilliantly got the better of team mates Oliver Osmaston and Josh Coleman for a HB Events 1-2-3.
Liam Garland won the Big-wheels' edging out team-mate Ben Watson for yet more HB points - but Jack Eldridge was on the gas to claim third for Hastings Gest with Rob Davidson this time in fourth.
James Dunn riding a KTM for the BA Promotions Team restored a bit of balance as he ripped clear to win the third Youth Open race from Tom Kelly Nathan Watson and Jordan Divall.
In the fourth block of racing Dunny carried on the impressive form to win again as he and Watson gaped the field.
Thompson and Kelly finished in third and fourth.
Ryan Vickers secured his second 65cc win of the day as did Liam Garland in the Big-wheels' - Garland once again getting the nod over Ben Watson and Jack Eldridge.
The Smallies win went to Oliver Osmaston with Josh Gilbert in second and Jack Seabourne (CJSC) in third. The AMX victory following a real barnstorming show went to Cambridge in the hands of Luke Benstead.
On day two with the template now set, and with the HB Events team holding a clear lead the interesting battle lay between BA Promotions and the Cambridge Team for second place.
