BRITAIN'S TOP freestylers headed to Peterborough earlier this month for the qualification round of the IFMXF Pro-Tour event to be held at the NASS finals (Shepton Mallet July 18-20).Unusually for a freestyle contest, the event was held on the Bolddog.com mobile landing system as opposed to a multi-line, multi-jump FMX course. Despite the irregular set-up the riders were as keen as ever to put on a top-notch show. The contest boiled down to a Gary Taylor/Jamie Squibb dog-fight as the judges awarded them exactly the same score - even though Gary was undeniably the best rider on the night. It was decided a run-off judged by the crowd was the only way to settle the score and Squibby took the win.Taylor wasn't so happy with the result and he'll be determined to finish one place higher at the NASS finals. Danny Veale and Sean Vukovic tied for third to earn their places at Shepton Mallet along with frisky Frazer Swanson and Dave Wiggins.Running alongside the FMX, BMX and skate contests was a British supermoto championship round. Ady Smith dominated the day's racing ahead of Danny Muller in the 450s and Warren Steele in the Open class.
