France replaces cancelled Polish World Trial

Last week the FIM announced an additional round of the SPEA FIM Trial World Championship, which will take place in Isola 2000, in France.
This new round will be held over two-days, on September 3/4, which means that the 2011 series will have eight rounds in total – of which three will be two-day affairs.
The new French Grand Prix has been added to the calendar to replace the GP of Poland, which was cancelled recently due to land-slides in the region caused by heavy rains in the area near Myslenice.
The final round in Poland, had been scheduled for September 4, and therefore the French trial has been scheduled for the same weekend in order to cause the least inconvenience to teams, drivers and other staff as well as the event schedules of National Federations.
In addition to being a two-day event, this will open opportunities to the many pilots who have decided not to attend the Japanese round which the FIM has decided will still be run.
Britain's David Willoughby, now director of the FIM Trials Commission, explained: "It is clear that since announcement that the round in Poland had been canceled, we have been working hard behind the scenes to replace this event in the calendar and analyse various options. However, the proposal for Isola 2000 offers the best solution.
"The fact that the organisers have previously staged a round of the World Trials series and that the event could be organised on the same weekend originally scheduled for the Polish event, proved it was best for all parties."
