OVER four fun-filled and action-packed days at Stoneleigh Park, the Dirt Bike Show once again wowed the crowds of off-road fans who flocked through the doors of the exhibition over the past weekend.
Entrance figures were up over the weekend to a whopping 21,000 and those who braved the terrible weather to make the trip to Stoneleigh were rewarded with definitely one of the better shows in recent years with almost 200 exhibitors displaying, brand-new live action arena shows, a popular new MX Forum, the usual live stage entertainment, and a seemingly endless stream of famous faces, big-names, and star riders on hand to sign autographs, press the flesh and talk shop with show-goers.
All the major off-road manufacturers were of course in attendance to offer customers an up close and personal look at the prospective mounts, and there were show exclusives from KTM, who gave its fantastic looking ATV 525XC quad machine a European debut, Gas Gas' stunning new side-valve four-stroke trialer, Scorpa's new T-Ride model, and the entire new TM range of ally framed machines which looked fantastic in the flesh and generated a serious amount of interest.
Away from the machinery side of things, there were numerous exclusive launches too with FRO Systems unveiling its ‘Neck Protect' neck brace to the public, Rockstar Energy drink promoting its arrival on UK shores, and DVD premieres from Gary Price's Next Generation 2 and the team at Moto Magazine.
Elsewhere inside Stoneleigh, the all-new live action arena shows proved to be a real crowd puller with Steve Colley's new trials demonstration and the pro-celebrity mini-bike racing and freestyle being packed-out across all four days, while of course bargain hunters had a field day in the retail halls taking advantage of the many deals on offer and snapping-up kit, bits and accessories in big numbers.
All in all, it was another successful year for the Dirt Bike Show and expect the 2008 edition to be even bigger and better.
