With a stack of star riders, a plethora of parts, clothing and accessories as well as a banging selection of bikes and babes to lust over, a trip to the 2016 International Dirt Bike Show provided a great day out for all off-road enthusiasts.
Running for four days at Stoneleigh Park, the show seemed busy enough throughout with fans eyeing exhibits, forming huge queues for the riding experiences and, perhaps most importantly of all, exchanging plenty of cash for products in the sales halls...
With more than 30 world titles between them, stars of the show were undoubtedly off-road legends like Dougie Lampkin, David Knight, Tony Cairoli, Dave Thorpe, Jamie Dobb, Steve Holcombe, Jack Price, Danny Hart and Jamie and Danny McCanney.
And they're just the ones we had confirmed sightings of so apologies to anyone we may have missed out.
A supporting cast that read like a who's who of off-road sports – riders including Tommy Searle, Takahisa Fujinami, Max Anstie, James Dabill, Chris Harris, the Watson brothers and so on and so forth – meant that autograph hunters were having an absolute field day.
It wasn't just fans that were collecting signatures either with several teams inking deals with riders over the duration of the weekend...
As always the displays of new bikes had plenty of show goers drooling and whether it's trials, enduro, motocross or rally that floats your boat there were more than enough new models to go round for everyone – both electric and petrol powered.
Fans of nostalgia were well treated too with an amazing amount of classic machinery, parts and accessories.
Heck, Alan Wright even had a NOS TMX t-shirt on sale from the early noughties...
Out in the action arena trials aces Dabill, Michael Brown, Iwan Roberts and Jack Price kept feet-up fans well amused while theMinibike Supercross was a roaring success.
The E-Scape electric bike experience was packed out all weekend with riders wanting to try battery-powered toys for the first time while the pay n' play quads kept running throughout.
All in all it's fair to say the 2016 edition of the show was another great success although show owners and operators Mortons Media Group are keen to point out that despite attendance across the four days being up by 4.2 per cent they have big plans for the future.
"I can't say too much right now,” says event head Nick Mowbray. "But watch this space because over the next 12 months we'll be revealing all regarding exciting developments and new elements which are being introduced.
"We already can't wait to get back to Stoneleigh next year, so get the dates of Thursday to Sunday, October 26-29, 2017 in your diary... it promises to be another unforgettable four days.”
