THE popularity of off-road motorsport with women is growing fast. No longer are trials, enduro and motocross perceived as male only sports, but activities where females can compete against men and many organisations holding classes just for women. For example the ACU Ladies Trials Championships and the British Ladies Motocross Championships. In addition many of the Enduro organisations also run a separate class for ladies.
The FIM (Federation International Motorcycling) are addressing this and recently released its Woman Ride' campaign which aims to promote women in motorcycling by using well-known female ambassadors including Livia Lancelot (FIM Women's Motocross World Champion) and Laia Sanz (FIM Women's Trial World Champion).
Many women out there are well aware of the off-road disciplines on offer, with many avid fans of their favourite sport. Therefore the barrier to them participating in the sport is not a lack of knowlege, rather them not being able to actually get involved. So in conjunction with Hucklebridge Events Ltd, T+MX embarked on a Try MX Day' to show you three different perspectives on ladies learning motocross.
