Hawkstone International 2026 - Sand, Stars, and Super Finals!
By Team TMX on 11th Feb 26
British motocross fans are expected to flock to Hawkstone Park on Sunday (February 15) to witness the 2026 edition of the Ashbrook Hawkstone International Powered by Syntol Lubricants.
An eight-race programme (three EMX125, a pair of MX2 and MX1 races – the top-20 overall from each going on to the ever-popular Super Final) awaits with the entry list packed with stars ready to take on the punishing sand circuit.
It’s hard to pinpoint the biggest news – is it the first time in history that both world champions have been present at the Hawkstone International? Or the fact that this is the first time British fans will see Jeffrey Herlings compete on something other than a factory KTM? Either way, spectators are sure to get their money’s worth with talent-laden racers in each division. Let us tell you more…
Although they’ll race last in the programme, let’s start with the MX1 class that features an astounding six world champions including the current MXGP title holder Romain Febvre. Febvre loves to battle hard at Hawkstone Park and starts as one of the favourites to win but let’s not discount Maxime Renaux, Herlings – debuting his HRC Honda in the UK – or his new teammate Tom Vialle. And what about Kay de Wolf or Pauls Jonass? Picking a winner from that lot is tough – especially on a day when you know Hawkstone Park is going to be at its brutal best.
Adding further value are British Champ Conrad Mewse and MXGP contenders Oriol Oliver, Calvin Vlaanderen, Brent van Doninck, Roan van de Moosdijk, Petar Petrov, Leopold Ambjornsson and Alberto Forato. Leading Brits in the 450 class include former champs Ben Watson and Adam Sterry along with perennial front runners including Josh Gilbert, Jamie Carpenter, Tom Grimshaw and Ben Edwards. That could very well be the 20 who represent the MX1 class in the Super Final and then there are another baker's dozen who’d happily prove us wrong.
The MX2 division might not have the same depth but prepare to be thrilled as current MX2 champ Simon Laengenfelder looks to dominate his two class motos before running away and hiding from the pack in the Super Final. He might just do it n’all! Mathis Valin is sure to feature up front too but don’t forget the Brits – Billy Askew, Joel Rizzi, Ollie Colmer, Ben Mustoe, Josh Vail, Jamie Keith and Calum Mitchell are just some of the names looking for a strong result to get their season off to a good start.
Witnessing 40 125cc two-strokes racing around Hawkstone Park is always a pleasure and we’ll see a mix of new and old faces battle it out for the top spot on the podium in the EMX125 class. Hayden Statt must start as one of the favourites to take victory but looking down the list there are plenty of names that could mount a strong challenge.
Getting to Hawkstone Park is really easy with the circuit signposted from both the A49 and A53 around 12 miles north of Shrewsbury. The postcode for SatNav users is SY4 4NA while What3Worders should aim for animal.rattler.shudders.
Tickets for the event are pay on the gate only and since phone signal is patchy, cash is king. We’re told that there will be a cash machine situated by the entrance. Price for adults is £45, kids five-14 are £15 and under fives are free. For more information visit hawkstoneinternationalmx.com
