SOME people say to experience winter MX action at its very best you have to visit Wilden Lane. All I know is, week after week, the superbly run Kidderminster venue attracts a whole raft of top performers to its virtually bullet proof, all-weather circuit and delivers big style as it did yet again on Sunday for the sixth round of the Winter Championship series.
In Adult Open, James Lassu delivered three totally different powerhouse performances that ultimately nailed the overall win, going 1-3-1.
In the opening race, James won a truly spellbinding encounter by fending off the close attentions of Josh Waterman before Josh unfortunately bailed out on the final lap when right on Lassu's tail.
In race two, a thunderous charge through the field following a first turn pile up resulted in a third place finish as Connor Walkley cruised to victory with Jack Cox in second. Then, third time out, a gate-to-flag winning romp for Lassu as Connor again caught the eye. Connor finished in second place both in the race and on the day too with a 2-1-2 card. Elsewhere in the section, with Josh Waterman retiring from the meeting with mechanical problems, a couple of well deserved mentions must go to Jack Cox and Kevin Wells, with both guys putting in hard charging performances.
