Jack Bintcliffe aiming high as a privateer for 2018
By Team TMX on 31st Jan 18
Following three weeks of intensive training in Spain, 17-year-old Jack Bintcliffe will return to the UK for a tough season opener in MX2 at the February 11 Hawkstone Park International.
After spending the previous two seasons with high-profile teams (Honda UK in 2016 and Hitachi KTM last year), in 2018 JB goes it alone as a privateer campaigning Husqvarna machinery.
In 2016 his season was cut short with a broken leg and elbow which meant he spent seven months out on the sidelines, and in 2017 Jack felt he was still somewhat below par having to play fitness catch up.
With some focused winter training on a 350 now behind him, strength and fitness is now much improved. In 2018 Jack concentrates all his championship efforts in Europe, taking on EMX250 along with the Dutch Masters.
In a recent interview, Jack revealed, after spending last season on a 125cc KTM and despite making the podium as runner-up at Preston Docks in Maxxis MXY2 hes now much happier to be back on four-stroke machinery.
If all goes to plan this year, Jacks set his bar high as usual and hes not even ruling out an appearance or two in the World championship rounds of MX2.
